Here comes the so called "Swiss Wings" recipe - just so you know it is a signature Hong Kong dish and it has nothing to do with Switzerland. This is the perfect dish to share with family and friends, and this is also the simpler version as well! Make sure you check out my YouTube video below for the full recipe.

A little bit of back story about the Swiss Wings - rumour has it “swiss wings” got its name because the waiters and waitresses kept mispronouncing this dish which was originally called “sweet wings” back in the days, but this mispronunciation just carried on over the years and this has become a well-known local dish among the Hong Kongers. It is also said that the famous Tai Ping Koon restaurant (太平館餐廳) invented this dish.

These are the ingredients that you need:

  • 1kg of chicken wings

  • 1 cup of soy sauce

  • 75g of crystal sugar

Steps:

  1. To prepare the Swiss Wings sauce, put in 1 cup of soy sauce and half a cup of water and mix them together

  2. Put the sauce in to a pot in medium heat and bring to a boil

  3. Once the sauce is boiling, put in the crystal sugar in the same pot

  4. Put in the the chicken wings into the pot and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes

  5. Plate the chicken wings when you can see the golden brown colour on the skin
